Platform Philosophy

Maps are not the product. Intelligence is the product.

TrueTopo does not aim to be “another map.” It aims to be the layer where legal access, resource data, and regional intelligence meet the map. That means:

  • Knowing where you can go (ANCSA 17(b) easements, RS 2477 trails, public land).
  • Knowing what’s there (mining claims, hydrology, wildlife, terrain).
  • Delivering that in a form that works in the field — fast, cacheable, offline-friendly.

Raw sources are ingested, normalized, and published. Pipelines run on a schedule (e.g. GitHub Actions); output is versioned and deployed to R2. No ad-hoc ETL in production.

Everything is static or edge-computed. No long-lived app servers. R2 + Workers + CDN keep latency low and cost predictable.

Alaska first, then North American wilderness, then global remote mapping. Each region gets its own data catalog, layers, and update cadence — so the platform stays authoritative where it matters most.
